Therapy doesn’t have to happen in a room, and sometimes it’s easier to talk when you’re moving.
Gentle Steps Counselling offers walk and talk therapy sessions in the beautiful mix of open space and woodland in Nonsuch and Cheam parks and Warren farm.

About Me
Hi,
I’m Claire (She/Her)
I am a fully qualified counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have also completed further training in Walk and Talk Therapy with The Counselling Academy.
As someone who has navigated my own challenges, I know that it can sometimes be hard to take that first step and talk about difficult experiences. I am here to offer you a safe, empathic, nurturing environment and the time to do this at your own speed.
My role isn’t to hand you the answers, but to walk alongside you, literally and metaphorically in our sessions. I will help you to understand and connect with your emotions whilst offering useful insights that help you to understand your triggers and explore your options for the future.
I am a patient and curious counsellor who will be thoughtful and dedicated to your wellbeing who offers an inclusive, supportive space for everyone including neurodivergent & LGBTQ+ people.
I have experience supporting people with a wide range of concerns, including high sensitivity, anxiety, relational and family issues, life transitions, work-life balance, addiction, living with someone with an addiction, abortion and many other concerns.
As an integrative counsellor, I will draw on various theories such as person-centred and psychodynamic counselling, exploring how your past shapes your present, alongside mindfulness practices.
If you are comfortable doing so, we could also explore nature based creative approaches to best support you and your individual situation.

Your journey to emotional wellness starts here.
Counselling Sessions
Walk & Talk

Walk and Talk counselling sessions, also known as outdoor therapy, are a great alternative for those who find traditional counselling too intense.
By incorporating the proven benefits of fresh air and exercise, alongside the more targeted support that counselling offers, many find this approach far more effective.

Online Sessions
For those who prefer more traditional counselling, I also offer online sessions.
These draw on some of the same mindfulness and grounding techniques I would use in outdoor sessions, but in a form more convenient for some.
